Safer Streets, Stronger Neighborhoods
Feeling safe—at home and on our streets—is a basic expectation, not a luxury.
What We’ll Do
-
Make streets safer by ensuring our police have the resources they need to protect every life and eliminate property crime.
-
Work across county agencies to create sustainable resources for community groups who work to prevent and respond to domestic violence.
What We’ll Do
-
Lower transit costs for seniors and people with disabilities, smarter bus routes, and solutions for getting the “last mile” home.
-
Speed up repairs to potholes, sidewalks, and dangerous crossings.
In District 4, too many residents worry about property crime, domestic violence, and unsafe roads. Broken or missing sidewalks, poor lighting, and dangerous crossings make everyday travel harder, especially for seniors, families, and people with disabilities.
We can do better—and we must.
My vision is simple: neighborhoods where people feel safe walking down their street, driving to work, or spending time at home. Public safety works best when it is built on trust, strong partnerships, and smart investments that prevent harm before it happens.
As your County Councilmember, I will work to ensure our police have the resources they need to protect every life and reduce property crime. That means supporting effective, accountable policing that keeps officers visible, responsive, and connected to the communities they serve. Safety is strongest when residents and law enforcement work together.
Domestic violence is a serious issue that requires a coordinated response. I will work across county agencies to support sustainable funding for community organizations that provide prevention, crisis response, and long-term support for survivors. No one should feel trapped or unsafe in their own home, and help must be accessible when it’s needed most.
Safe streets also depend on reliable transportation and infrastructure. I will advocate for lower transit costs for seniors and people with disabilities, smarter bus routes that reflect how people actually travel, and practical solutions for the “last mile” between transit stops and home or work. Transportation should connect people to opportunity—not create barriers.
Finally, I will push to speed up repairs to potholes, sidewalks, and dangerous intersections. Fixing these problems quickly improves safety, supports local businesses, and makes neighborhoods more livable for everyone.
Public safety isn’t just about enforcement—it’s about design, access, and care for the places we live.
Safer streets make everyday life better—and help our communities grow.
